IFS is a model for introspection that provides clarity and transcendence by learning new ways to relate to yourself (the parts of you) and others in a more meaningful, effective, and authentic way. Clarity and Compassion lead to a more conscious life that lends to coping in more effective ways and also lessens the discomfort that charges the need to cope.
IFS is a meditative process of self-inquiry. The client is invited to close their eyes in order to bring awareness to what is happening inside.
We get curious about thoughts, emotions, sensations, and impulses that you notice in the body. I will guide you through a series of questions that unveils the parts of you, how they are trying to help you, and what they have been carrying such as negative beliefs or stuck tension and emotion.
The client has agency to redirect, slow down, or make requests to honor their pace throughout the process.
IFS offers a process of not only understanding from a cognitive perspective; it allows for release of the old beliefs and stuck emotional energy in the body. This is part of the significant healing that can be experienced through IFS.
It is an approach that does not neglect the body and offers somatic release and nervous system reprocessing.
